Sweet River

Hana’s search for her son, Joey’s, body leads her to the town of Billing after his killer, John Simkins, dies. Hana uncovers more than expected and threatens to expose the towns secrets. Renting a house, Hana starts to see children in an unharvested and unburnt field belonging to her neighbours, John and Elenor Drake, close to the scene of a mysterious bus accident that drowned all the children on board when it plunged into the Sweet River. Hana links Simkins to the Drake’s - he was working for them when Joey went missing.Hana sees Elenor out in the field interacting with the same children she sees- the children of the bus crash- living in the field by night and Sweet River by day. The field is protected by the mothers of the dead children. The untouched field means the children live in the twilight. After promising to burn the field, John suddenly dies. Hana now takes the matter into her own hands, with the fury of a mother she confronts the equally protective Elenor across the field.
