Extra-marital affairs are a concept that dates back to Biblical days. However, with the sudden explosion, acceptance and exploitation of "side pieces" are we saying that this is now the new norm? With top television shows such as Scandal, Being Mary Jane and Mistresses, the idea of side piece has turned from shameful to flattering. Secret lovers are blackmailing for money, fame and power. Side chicks are becoming wives and the institution of marriage is slowly crumbling. Is there a science behind the challenges of monogamy? Is fidelity no longer an option?
