Former Britpop rocker, Lachlan MacAldonich has settled into a comfortably numb existence working on an organic farm just outside Los Angeles when he suddenly comes to a crossroads and is forced to confront the past and current demons in his life. By day he travels to the city's farmers' markets to sell produce to people like Beau, a lovely struggling actress and amateur chef. By night he drinks himself into a stupor until he retires to his shabby apartment where he records a podcast recounting the tragic deaths of great musicians. After a particularly heavy night of drowning his sorrows he gets pulled over for a DUI that dredges up a past drug offense and threatens him with deportation. His only hope of remaining stateside is proving that his absence would cause extreme hardship for a spouse or relative. CALIFORNIA SOLO is a touching, human story about post-fame life and personal redemption.
