Winona Could Face Jail Time On Four Felonies

What actress Winona Ryder thought would be a five-finger discount day has turned into four big charges and the possibility of some heavy jail time.

The Los Angeles courts official charged the Girl, Interrupted star with grand theft, commercial burglary, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance on Friday. These charges combined carry a maximum penalty of three years, eight months.

Winona was caught at a Beverly Hills Sax Fifth Avenue store in December with $4,800 worth of merchandise in her bag with the tags torn-off. A security guard spotted her trying to remove a sensor tag with a pair of scissors. When she was searched police also found painkillers that were not the star's presciption.

She remains out of jail right now, but Los Angeles prosecutors are asking her bail be raised from $20,000 to $30,000. The arraignment will be February 8th.
