Wes Craven's 'Alice' Nothing Like Disney's 'Wonderland'

Horror master Wes Craven is adapting the Alice video game into a new film for Dimension. It will be based on American McGee's dark and violent PC game released last year which pits an adult Alice against the Madhatter, the Cheshire Cat and others from Lewis Carroll's famous story.

"It's like Wonderland seen through the eyes of post-21st century America,'' Craven was quoted as saying in an interview with Sci Fi Wire. The man behind the Scream trilogy added, "Everything that we can take from the game we will steal, and then we'll bring even more to it."

Here's hoping Craven casts Christina Ricci in the titular role.
