Have you ever wondered where and how Peter Pan made his way into Neverland? No? Well then, this trailer probably isn't for you.

For the rest of us though, the mysterious origins of Peter Pan is something that has gnawed at the back of our collective minds since childhood although we've probably never been aware of it. I'm sure there was a line or two that attempted to explain how Peter Pan ended up in Neverland, but I don't ever recall getting a full explanation.

Enter Pan, the new film starring Hugh Jackman as the villain, Blackbeard. Yep, you read that right. Apparently, before Captain Hook ascended to the throne of villainy in Neverland, Blackbeard was the oppressive regime leader.

The trailer is a visual treat and the story seems pretty compelling right up until the part where extras from the Cirque de Soleil break in to steal Peter off to Neverland. From there, we get copious amounts of Hugh Jackman in bad wigs and Garrett Hedlund playing a good version of Hook.

Rooney Mara looks quite interesting as Tiger Lily although it almost seems a bit forced so as not to overwhelm the audience with too many male leads. Consider us cautiously intrigued about this big 2015 event film. Pan is set to hit theaters on July 17.
