If you haven't seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes, then you might want to close this story and go see it, then come back. Now that you're back, or if you've seen it, then allow me to share today's latest trailer for the sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

To say that this film looks great would be a collossal understatement. Ever since the original Planet of the Apes film came out in 1968, this was the film that we have been waiting for. That's not to take anything away from those original films, but there's something a bit more menacing and cool when you know that it's simply not a man wearing a latex mask.

And yet, with the foreknowledge of where this is leading, it's even more interesting to see the ever-changing dynamics play out. When you boil it down, the battles in the Apes films are a parallel to any other war between different human factions. And yet, from the trailer, it looks as though the most human moments are going to come from the Apes and not the surviving human characters.

Either way, this film is quickly climbing my must-see list this Summer. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 18.
