A Long Summer Awaits “Sopranos” Fans

Fans everywhere sit and wait out the winter for that March season finale of HBO’s huge series, “The Soprano’s.” Well, if you were counting down the days until March, you can just fuhgeddaboudit. How does June (or maybe even September) grab you?

Why the wait? Sources give only one reason: creator David Chase’s perfectionism. Could it be the show is close to an end and David wants to make the show’s last season better than any season before? He has said season four will be the last but HBO’s deep pockets and big offer has him thinking twice.

“The Soprano’s” earned 22 Emmy nominations last week for it’s third season. Regardless if the fourth season ends up the last, the show is null-and-void for any Emmy nominations for 2002 because of the delay in production. Only shows aired between June 2001 and May 2002 are eligible for nominations.
