If you're a fan of Alfred Hitchcock, then the next couple of months are going to be a real treat for you. Up first, is an HBO film called The Girl which centers on the director and his working relationship with actress Tippi Hedren.

Tippi starred in The Birds and Marnie for Hitchcock at the tail end of his career and from the early sneaks that we saw a few weeks back, The Girl has a pretty serious tone and deals more with the cantankerous side of the famed director.

At the time those sneaks came out, the big screen film Hitchcock was still set to debut sometime in 2013. A couple of weeks ago, Hitchcock made a bit of a splash by moving into 2012 and firmly planting itself as an Oscar front-runner for Best Actor and Best Actress consideration.

Today, we got the first look at Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock and I must say that the resemblance is spooky, although Hopkins' voice is very pronounced, as opposed to Toby Jones in The Girl. You can judge for yourself below.

It's also clear that this film, which centers around the filming of Psycho, is more lighthearted and fun. I particularly enjoyed Helen Mirren's portrayal of Alma and think she pretty much has an Oscar nomination locked up.

Hitchcock opens in theaters on November 23. The Girl debuts on HBO on October 20. In case you missed them, I've included the sneak peeks below. Let us know what you think of the two films.
