'The Simpsons' First Season Coming To DVD

One of the most beloved TV series of all time will finally appear in the digital format. Fox Home Entertainment will release a three-disc DVD boxed set of the first season (1989-90) titled The Simpsons: The Complete First Season.

All 13 episodes will be included as well as a host of bonus materials. Commentary from series creator Matt Groening and an unaired episode will be featured as well as original scripts, early sketches, outtakes and more. The original shorts from "The Tracey Ullman Show", the Fox show that helped launch The Simpsons into its own series, will be included.

The DVD set is slated for release on Sept. 25 and will reportedly for a suggested retail price of $39.98.

The Simpsons Season 1 DVD Box Set Special Features And Disc Content Specifics: All of the first season episodes of The Simpsons are compiled on 3 dual-layered disks (full frame, aspect ration 1.33:1). Each episode is presented with English 5.1, English Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround Sound and English and Spanish subtitles. In addition, the following special features are exclusive to each specific disk:
