Aubrey Plaza gives new meaning to V-Day

When you say V-Day, most people automatically think of Valentine's Day, romance, the color red or every other Hallmark cliché that has been shoved down our throats for the last century or so. Surprisingly, while the holiday has become more commercial over the years, Valentine's Day is a celebration of love that dates back centuries, probably longer.

If Aubrey Plaza has her way, after 2013, V-Day will have another meaning. Virginity Day, V-Card Day, Vag Day.

And there will be hand jobs. Lots and lots of hand jobs.

CBS Films and Aubrey took a novel approach when they released their trailer disguised as a release date announcement for their upcoming film The To Do List. Aubrey introduces the film and it's quickly apparently that this isn't your parents' Valentine's Day.

The film isn't the sort of romantic fluff that usually inundates the megaplexes around Valentine's Day. No, it's quite the opposite actually. It's an R-rated film that doesn't skirt around the issues.

Written and directed by Maggie Carey, The To Do List will almost assuredly get labeled as the female version of American Pie. From the looks of this first trailer, American Pie would be so lucky. It's pretty evident that it destroys all of the envelopes that American Pie pushed.

Beyond the ever-radiant Aubrey Plaza, it's pretty clear that the film is stocked with some of the funniest actors and actresses working in Hollywood today. It's refreshing to see Donald Glover, Alia Shawkat and Clark Gregg stretch their comedic bones on the big screen.

Naturally, The To Do List is set for a release on Valentine's Day 2013. Just check out the trailer below and you'll know I can't stop talking about it.
