Kristen Bell loves Sloth (no it's not a 'Goonies' reference)

OK, I've officially changed my mind. I used to think that the week between Christmas and New Year's was the slowest news week of the year, but I'm beginning to think that it's the week leading up the Super Bowl instead.

It doesn't help matters much that the Golden Globe awards are done and the Oscar nominations are out and that anyone who is anyone is recuperating from their little Mountain vacation over at Sundance. So yeah, until the Super Bowl is able to breathe some fresh air into the news cycle, I'm afraid that we're left wondering what sort of wardrobe malfunctions Madonna has in store for us this year.

Thankfully, there are always crazy celebrities doing "interesting" things to keep us amused. Today's crazy quotient is provided by the adorable Kristen Bell. While my compatriot Tim is was enamored with her, I never watched Veronica Mars so I didn't get all the hype.

Sure, I enjoyed her performance in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but I'm still waiting for her to wow me. Well, consider me officially wowed.

And not in a good way.

It seems that Ms. Bell is an extremely emotional person and she has a thing for sloths. No, not John Matuszak's alter ego in The Goonies, ew. That's just creepy.

No, she has a soft spot for the furry, ugly-cute (is that a word?) tree dwelling creatures. Her fiancé Dax Shepard (yes, that Dax Shepard) decided to surprise her with a sloth visit for her birthday and Kristen Bell figuratively lost her shit (thanks Ted).

So, not only am I wowed that Kristen Bell would cry hysterically at the mere suggestion of meeting a sloth, but I'm wowed and perplexed that she's actually engaged to Dax Shepard. Maybe it's just one long Punk'd episode.

Anyhow, Kristen Bell was on "Ellen" today and this story came up. Well, it would have been a nice, funny story, but of course Dax filmed the reaction. And you know, it makes perfect logical sense to share that video with the program so that they can share it with their viewers and we can share it with you.

Yep, makes perfect sense. What were her publicists thinking?

Anyway, check out the video below and let us know what you think. I guess we should just be thankful that she's never met the double rainbow guy.
