New images surface for 'Green Lantern' and other Summer movies

You know that Summer is right around the corner when studios start escalating the promotion of their tent pole titles. Today, Warner Bros. is looking to shift some focus to their Summer releases, namely Green Lantern, by releasing some new stills from their upcoming movies.

It's a time-honored tradition that has become more accessible and widespread with the help of the Internet. In the past, it was magazines with big glossy photos and now it's websites with new pics every other day it seems.

The first set of pictures come from Green Lantern which is positioned to be their biggest non-Harry Potter film this Summer. I have been skeptical of this movie for a long time and there's really nothing in this stills to change my mind. Ryan Reynolds still looks silly in his CG-created costume and while the image of him with the big gun is interesting, I still think this movie might be a huge disappointment.

The next couple of shots are from Crazy, Stupid, Love, the latest Steve Carell comedy with a very strong supporting cast. Normally, I'm not the biggest Steve Carell fan, but this movie has piqued my interest from its apparent comic take on familiar ground seen in American Beauty.

Finally, we have the first shot of Jamie Foxx from the film Horrible Bosses. Warner Bros. showed us a bunch of stills recently and let's just say that this might be the comedy I'm most looking forward to seeing this Summer, even more than the other Warner Bros. comedy coming out next month.
