First, they had an Excellent Adventure and then they had a Bogus Journey. Now, Bill & Ted are officially getting ready for their third adventure? Journey? Bodacious Expedition?

We've seen numerous reports over the years that Keanu Reeves, who has since exploded (and later imploded) into a huge movie star, is itching to literally "get the band" back together for a third outing (Awesome Odyssey?), but it's mostly been empty talk, until now.

MTV Movies Blog recently sat down with the more reclusive Alex Winter and got confirmation that the pair have settled on an idea and are in the process of getting the script right before moving forward.

While the news of finally getting to see Wyld Stallyns in all of their glory and grandeur is music to my ears, it's also a bit bittersweet when you realize that their time-traveling future dude Rufus won't be joining them as actor George Carlin passed away in 2008. And while we're speaking of Rufus, his absence will be missed more than just sentimentally as he was supposedly from the year 2688.

Even Winter admits in the interview that while they would never consider recasting Carlin, handling the fate of Rufus is one that they've struggled with. I'm not sure how audiences will react and obviously this major plot hole will have to be one that is handled delicately and properly.

But given that it is, the time might just be right to check in on San Dimas' most famous slackers. Winter claims that the movie would be like checking in on the duo 20 years later and not simply a "passing of the torch" story like the rumored (and much maligned, but that's a story for another day) third movie in the Ghostbusters franchise.

But, that leaves open a very important question. What would a third outing (Spectacular Voyage?) actually look like? Given that the two principles are back, you would figure that the movie would revolve heavily around Wyld Stallyns and time travel. Also, given that the original movies heavily involved school and the pair's need to "get on track" (Fantastic Pilgrimage?), it's not too far-fetched to think that this incarnation could deal heavily with their kids and a new path (Righteous Route?) in their lives.

So, I would be surprised if the story doesn't involve Theodore 'Ted' Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq. getting back to their time-traveling ways with their children in tow or because their kids have been kidnapped through time. Of course, this is just my shot in the dark, what I'm really looking forward to is hearing all of your potential story ideas.

And why not give us your favorite title for the third movie (Saucy Saunter?) while you're at it. I'm sure you can do better than I did in this article. So, will you be waiting in line to see this when it eventually hits the megaplexes?
