There are few indisputable facts in this world. We all die. The taxman will always take his share - and then some. And finally, that I will rail against any and every attempt to remake the classic movies of my youth.

This story is sort of in the vein of that last statement. Over at The Hollywood Reporter, they are reporting that New Line has plans to develop a sequel/reboot of the Vacation franchise.

Interestingly, it was almost two months ago to the day that we speculated how long it would take for Hollywood to remake one of John Hughes' classics. Sadly, the answer is not long at all.

To be somewhat fair, the story says that it's more of a sequel with the story focusing on an adult Rusty Griswold who embarks on a road trip with his family. There's even room for Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo to reprise their characters, although this time as grandparents.

And it's not like they haven't made countless sequel after sequel after sequel already with this franchise, so I shouldn't be too surprised. But, I don't know. There's just something that seems very wrong about this in some way.

What do you think? Should they make this movie, or do we have enough RVs, College Road Trips and Are We There Yet?s for a few lifetimes?

I think it's safe to say where I stand on this issue.
