Usually, the TV upfronts for advertising is a week when a lot of things get decided for Fall TV schedules and beyond. Of course, it also has some ramifications in the film world as well as actors from cancelled shows are freed up to pursue other projects ala Jason Lee now that My Name is Earl hasn't been picked up.

But, it's not often that the Peabody awards result in movie news, however this year is an exception. SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels talked about the possibility of expanding the MacGruber skits into a full-length feature to the Hollywood Reporter.

"It would have to be in the summer because we are back in production in the fall. We're still in discussions."

You might remember the skits as being a take on the MacGyver character in which MacGruber, who is revealed to be MacGyver's illegitimate son over the course of a couple guest stints by MacGyver himself Richard Dean Anderson, is always distracted while trying to disarm a bomb leading to its explosion.

The character was even featured in a Super Bowl ad and the response lukewarm at best. So, why does Lorne think this will work? Heck, I'd rather see Laser Cats get the big screen treatment.

What do you think? What was your favorite SNL skit turned into a movie?
