Special Edition 'Hannibal' and 'Silence' DVDs Coming

The hit sequel to The Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal is set to debut as a special edition DVD on Aug. 21. The two-disc set will include over 35 minutes of deleted scenes, five unique "making of" features, audio commentary by director Ridley Scott, three interactive multi-angle featurettes, and a photo gallery of never-before-seen materials. The set has over four hours of extras.

In addition, to the Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore sequel, The Silence Of The Lambs will also be released as a special edition DVD on the same date. Available in both standard and widescreen editions, they will contain 20 minutes of deleted scenes and brand-new interviews with Jodie Foster, Hopkins and others. Both formats will also contain Dolby 5.1 high-definition transfer, a "making of" and a never-before-seen outtake reel.

The Silence Of The Lambs Criterion Collection DVD was previously available but now is out of print.
