I love 'I Love Movies' (Comedian Doug Benson's podcast) and so should you

I've blabbered a lot about movie podcasts this year. I mean, what's not to love about them? It's people talking about the thing we all love -- movies.

Stand-up comic Doug Benson has a great new podcast called "I Love Movies" (iTunes link). The only reason it didn't make my Top 5 list this summer is, well... because it's new.

Benson, a sleepy-eyed comedian you may recognize from VH1's Best Week Ever or his pot smoking documentary Super High Me, really delivers an entertaining podcast. He and two of his comedian/actor friends talk about the latest movies.

In recent episodes, he's had on Jon Hamm and Sarah Silverman. In the most recent podcast, he shares some capsulized reviews of recent movies. They are too funny not to share here.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Is this a kids' movie about a bear?

Doubt - Pretty sure I won't like it!

Australia - Been there, don't wanna do that!

Gran Torino - Add 'dfather' to the middle and then take a nap.

Frost/Nixon - I'll wait for that to come out on tapes.

Four Christmases - Vince Vaughn's best movie since Fred Claus.

Revolutionary Road - Kate and Leo reunite to prove that the real star of Titanic was the iceberg.

Valkyrie - Tom Cruise tries to kill Hitler and fails. Spoiler alert!

Not laughing? Perhaps it's all in Doug's delivery. Listen in and I assure you more than a few guffaws.

Doug and pals also play an interesting game at the end of each show. It's something they call "The Leonard Maltin Game". They take one of the critic's handy, dandy pocket movie guides and one person flips randomly to a movie. After disclosing the year of the film to the players, he or she reads the cast bottom-up (from least notable to the starring roles) until someone correctly guesses it.

One brief warning about Doug's podcast: there is quite a bit of profanity and adult language so don't listen to it with small kids in earshot. Heck, I wouldn't listen to it with small pets or houseplants in the vicinity.

And, yes, Willem Dafoe is a shit-head.

As an added bonus, here is Doug on VH1's Best Year Ever reviewing 2008's biggest movies in eight words or less.
