See the dueling 'Transformers' posters

Paramount has released two pretty darn cool posters for this July's Transformers movie. In fact, they're more than meets the eye. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

One features the Autobot leader Optimus Prime with the tagline of "Protect" while the other has Decepticon honcho Megatron with "Destroy."

The two posters fit together quite nicely as a diptych. (Yes, 'diptych' is a real word. My art history lovers will back me up on it. So will Wikipedia.)

Incidentally, Hugo Weaving (a.k.a. Agent Smith and V) was recently announced as the voice of Megatron. Keith David will add the audio for Barricade, a fellow Decepticon in the form of a Saleen Mustang.

As you can see from the posters, Transformers arrives in theaters on July 4.
