Third time the end for Tobey Maguire?

A couple of weeks ago, there were a few rumblings from Kirsten Dunst that the upcoming Spider-Man 3 might be the last time she plays Mary Jane onscreen. Now, it seems that Spidey himself is ready to hang up his web.

Tobey Maguire was quoted on how he feels about the third film and future films in the franchise.

"To me it seems like this is a natural point for the team to break up because we have a lot of story conclusions that were going along for the main characters for the first two movies and we kind of tie almost everything up for the third movie. It feels like a trilogy to me and it feels like the end."

Now, whether these words are true feelings are negotiating tactics, only time will tell. One thing is for certain, if Spider-Man 3 even comes close to the box office bonanza the first two films turned out to be, you better believe someone will be putting on the Spidey suit.
