Jude Law apologizes for affair with nanny

Actor Jude Law has issued a public apology to his fiancée Sienna Miller for sleeping with his children's nanny. News got out about the affair from British newspaper The Sun. Law's statement read:

"Following the reports in today's paper, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us... I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain I've caused. There is no defense for my actions, which I deeply regret and I ask that you respect our privacy at this very difficult time."

According to BBC News, the couple's friends report the two are now "working through" this problem. The affair allegedly began in New Orleans earlier this year where Law was filming All the King's Men. The nanny, 26-year-old Daisy Wright, was watching over one of Jude's three children whom he had with former wife, fashion-designer and actress Sadie Frost.

There has been no word from 23-year-old Miller. Sienna and Jude became engaged on Christmas 2004.
