More Spidey in 2007

This week at ShoWest, a large convention of theater owners, Columbia-Tristar made it official: Spider-Man 3 is set for May 4, 2007 release. True, that's still over three years away and Spider-Man 2 hasn't even come out yet (due on June 30th), but that didn't stop the attendees from getting excited.

"Spider-Man is the one we're counting on. It can get everyone excited for summer" said Al Teicher, owner of a chain of movie theaters in Ohio afte viewing footage from this Summer's installment.

Columbia also announced that actor Tobey Maguire will reprise the titular role and director Sam Raimi will return to helm the third incarnation.
