xXx2 goes for Ice power

It looks like Sony is ditching its Diesel power for xXx2, the follow-up to 2002's gen-x spy thriller xXx. Word out of Hollywood is that Ice Cube will take over the reins in xXx2.

Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as NSA agent Augustus Gibbons and serve as Cube's handler. It seems that Vin Diesel is getting a reputation for pulling out of sequels. He hit Hollywood's jackpot with 2001's The Fast And the Furious, but failed to reprise his character in this year's 2 Fast 2 Furious.

xXx2 will film next year with a Summer release in 2005 planned.
