'Two Towers' coming in two DVD versions, in Aug. and Nov.

Just like their dual release of Fellowship of the Ring, New Line is giving you two ways to own The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. On Aug. 26, you can own the DVD in widescreen or full-screen formats of the movie seen in theaters. Or, you can wait until Nov. 18 to get the expanded version with extra footage not previously seen.

Although most hard-core fans will opt for the November extended version, but most casual fans will enjoy the earlier release which is definitely NOT bare-bones.

The Aug. 26 release is a two-disc set with hours of bonus features, including a preview of this winter's trilogy-ending The Return of the King. The first disc is the feature with Dolby Digital EX 5.1 surround sound, surround sound, English subtitles and closed captions, and Spanish subtitles. Here is a list of the special features available on the second DVD in the set:
