Prolific writer Stephen King announced today that he's finished writing books for publication. He's currently working on the seventh installment of the 'Dark Towers' series, a volume of work that's taken him over 30 years to complete.

"This finishes it. It's the sequel to everything. And, in a sense, once these books are done, there's nothing else to say." King has threatened retirement in the past and most recently, he vowed not to return to writing after a near-fatal car accident almost cost him his life.

His suspense-filled tales have always transferred well onto the big screen. Among his many scary hits, a couple highlights include: Carrie, The Shining, Cujo, Christine, Firestarter, Children Of The Corn, Pet Sematary, Stand By Me, It, The Shawshank Redemption, Misery, The Green Mile, Hearts In Atlantis, and the forth coming Dreamcatcher.
