Chris Tucker To Be Clouseau For The Next Pink Panther?

Could The Pink Panther be on the loose again? If so, he may have a new bungling detective on his trail. One report says that Chris Tucker is the man for the job.

That's according to an interview with Herbert Lom, the actor who played Inspector Dreyfus to the legendary Peter Sellers' Inspector Clouseau. Lom says he will also star. No word on the return of writer/director Blake Edwards. A report a few years ago claimed Edwards would be replaced in a future installment.

This won't be the first try to replace Sellers. A then unknown Roberto Benigni starred as Clouseau Jr. in Son Of The Pink Panther in 1993. The film bombed both commercially and critically.

If anyone can breath life into the once-great Pink Panther series, it's Tucker.
