Scooby-Doo gave Sarah Michelle Gellar big dreams as she decided to leave her vampire slaying days for the big screen.

"It's important for me to go out on top. I don't want to be part of a show that runs eight years only to have people say of it, 'That should have ended years ago,'" Sarah said. She's full of hope after the success of Scooby-Doo and believes it's the springboard she's needed.

Fox has not decided what to do with the storyline yet. The most discussed option is to have Buffy's role taken over by her teenage sister, Dawn, played by Michelle Trachtenberg.

Executive producer Marti Noxon says it would be great if Buffy could come back for guest appearances from time-to-time but Sarah doesn't seem interested. She has complained about missing top movie roles due to the time-consuming constraints of Buffy's filming schedule and also is concerned about how the show's stunts have taken a toll on her body.

So, live it up Buffy fans. You'll be watching re-run central soon.
