We found out the highly-anticipated title, Die Another Day, and now we know where else they are filming.

Actors and crews (minus Pierce Brosnan) headed to the Joekulsarlon glacial lagoon in southeast Iceland to shoot five chase sequences for the latest Bond movie.

“It’s the scene with all the guns and gadgets,” director Vic Armstrong said. He wants to keep the chase seen exciting, using a convertible green Jaguar and a gran Aston Martin to race across the frozen lagoon. Vic’s goal is to “keep the cars flowing, spinning. It will be like a ballet.”

The lagoon sits on the edge of the Vatnajokull glacier, the third-largest ice cap in the world. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland and has been used in other movies like A View To A Kill and Tomb Raider.

Crews dammed the enclosure to keep out warm sea water so the ice could freeze to at least one foot thick, which is required for cars and crew to work on top. The crew also had to haul in snow, since Iceland is having a low-precipitation season.

James Bond himself couldn’t make it to Iceland as he is still nursing a knee injury but they plan to dub in shots from previous filming in England of Pierce, since we know the stars aren’t really behind the wheel.
