The residents of a London street are baffled when they all receive anonymous postcards stating, "we want what you have." Is it a marketing campaign? An art project? Or something more ominous? As the mystery of the postcards deepens, interweaving stories reveal lives filled with love, loss, fear, and greed. A wealthy banker (Toby Jones, Detectorists) and his demanding wife (Rachael Stirling, The Bletchley Circle) eagerly await his bonus, while a Zimbabwean traffic warden (Wunmi Mosaku, Batman v Superman) fears deportation. A Pakistani immigrant (Adeel Akhtar, The Night Manager) tries to keep his family together as they spar with the detective (Bryan Dick, Bleak House) investigating the postcards. A young artist (Robert Emms, War Horse) hides a secret from his estranged mother (Lesley Sharp, Scott & Bailey), and an elderly grandmother (Gemma Jones, Sense and Sensibility) hardly recognizes the street she's lived on almost all her life. Based on John Lanchester's bestselling novel, this complex and resonant drama is a "beguiling" (The Daily Telegraph, UK) and "alarmingly recognizable" (The Times, UK) depiction of contemporary life in England's capital city.
