TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: KA SHEN'S JOURNEY tells the moving real-life story of a Eurasian girl from Hong Kong who while studying at London's Royal Ballet School was spotted by famed movie producer Ray Stark and would captivate the world as Nancy Kwan, star of the 1960 classic The World of Suzie Wong. Kwan would follow that Academy AwardŽ-nominated motion picture debut the following year with the groundbreaking all-Asian Rodgers & Hammerstein hit musical Flower Drum Song. Kwan instantly become one of the most sought after young actresses in Hollywood and went on to star in more major movies opposite such leading men as Tony Curtis and Dean Martin. But at the height of her sex symbol fame she returned to Hong Kong to care for her ailing father - and remained there for a decade. Today she continues to act and has launched a second career as a producer. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: KA SHEN'S JOURNEY reveals the personal and professional triumphs and tribulations of this important figure who helped pave the way for all Asians in Hollywood films and TV. Besides letting Kwan tell her story, Brian Jamieson's intimate film includes interviews with such stars as Joan Chen, France Nuyen, Vivian Wu and a host of family and friends.
