First look at 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' is anything but peculiar

There is one film that I strongly debated putting my list of 2016 sleepers. Ultimately I decided against it figuring that it was too much of a known quantity to be considered a true sleeper.

That film is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Whether it is too well-known to be a sleeper, one thing is certain, this film is destined to be a huge hit for Fox. It has just enough of that Harry Potter mystique to pique interest, but not so much that you're left complaining that it's just another sad imitation.

It also has three very important not-so-secret weapons in director Tim Burton and stars Eva Green and Asa Butterfield. Stylistically, there isn't anyone on the planet that could do Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children justice as Tim Burton. It's a match made in heaven and this first footage just proves it.

Asa may have missed out on his chance to play Spider-Man, but this film should secure his spot among the young elite in Hollywood. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children hits theaters on September 30.
