The Next Superman Is...

Sorry, for the tease, but the fact is that no one knows.

We can tell you for sure that Nicolas Cage is absolutely not the next Man of Steel, he passed after Tim Burton got restless. And we know that Kevin Smith's script for 'Superman Lives' won't be used, which is a pity.

What we do know is that, for the moment, the next installment of Superman will have Anthony Hopkins as Jor-El, Superman's father and Brett Ratnor (Rush Hour) is slated to direct...for now.

Everyone and their cousin has been rumored to play Clark Kent. Josh Hartnett has reportedly turned down the role no less than three times and counting. Keanu Reeves has been rumored as has Ashton Kutcher. Heck, even Joe Millionaire has been given a screen test, whatever his real name is.

Time will tell...
