While movie critics across the country did their best Dr. Evil impersonations in collectively panning the latest Austin Powers flick, Mike Myers continued to have the last, snaggle-toothed laugh. His latest opus, Austin Powers In Goldmember debuted with a record $71.5 Miiiillion.
Of course, with all those Benjamins rolling in, talk is already underway for "Austin Powers 4." While it's still too early to talk specifics, director Jay Roach did concede that he and Myers were tossing around ideas. "Yeah, it's true that it's been reported that 'Goldmember' is the last in the series, but I'll tell you that halfway through production of this film, Mike Myers and I looked at each other and said, 'What about Austin Powers 4?'"
Goldmember is the highest box office opening for Myers, followed by Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me's $54.9 Million and Shrek's $42.3 Million.
