The power of a woman's spirit and her growing love for her adopted African homeland enable her to overcome overwhelming personal tragedy and find purpose in life. As a child, Kuki Gallmann (Kim Basinger) discovered the singular magic of Africa. As an adult, she emigrates to Africa with her new husband, Paolo (Vincent Perez), and her son, Emanuele (Liam Aiken). Although it is the place she has waited for all her life, she never dreamed of the pain, passion, joy and hardship that was hidden in its vast beauty. Inspired by a true story of the indomitable Kuki Gallman and told against the magnificent backdrop of Africa's unsolvable mystery.
